Sharing My Email address!

One thing that has really been upsetting me lately is when people send email to me and about 25 other people. These people for what ever reason choose to disclose my email address to these people most of whom I don't even know. If people do not know how to send using the BCC or undisclosed recipient option they should not be sending email at all.

Spamhaus does make mistakes

I hate spammers just as much as the next person. Yes, I am happy that there are news laws in place that try to protect people from spam. I also think that technology and organizations who try to stop spam are wonderful. However, I do get quite annoyed when I don't receive email or email that shouldn't go in my spam or junk folder goes there. I can handle that though.

What really got me is when I found out email from a domain name that I own had been black listed by Spamhaus. Luckily for me some of the email addresses that rejected these messages sent me a reply notifying me about this. I was wondering why my domain name had been blacklisted since I do not send spam.

It had nothing to do with anything I had done but my domain shared the same IP address with somebody who had sent spam. According to Spamhaus there was really nothing I could do on my end but contact my web hosting company. My web hosting company isn't too sure what the problem is since the email itself wasn't even sent though their server but instead the text of the email mentioned the domain that shared this IP address. This is the spam report in question.

I guess I am not the only person who has been affected by the mistakes on Spamhaus. While trying to research is I ran ac cross an interesting article called Those Spamhaus Bastards. I'm sure there are plenty of other Spamhaus victims who don't even know they have been affect by the mistakes of Spamhaus yet. I just really hope my issue gets cleared up soon!!!!

Katrina Scams!!!!

I am so upset to hear about people running Hurricane Katrina Internet Scams! I'm sad to say that I am not surprised by this though. It's one thing to try and scam regular every day people using the Internet but taking money from these people is also taking it away from the Hurricane Katrina Victims. These people running these scams are lower than low. They belong in prison with the murderers and child molesters.

Help Katrina Victims through your Website or Blog

For those of you who would like to help Katrina Victims there is a way to do it through your website or blog. You can add banners to you sites or blogs. Here is a link to Red Cross Banners. It's too bad this has not been promoted more. I found it by doing a search through google news and by luck came across one site who had a link to the Red Cross Banner page.

Stumble Upon

  I spend way too much time online as it is. Just what I needed was something else to keep online even longer. But guess what, I found it. It's StumbleUpon which is a bit of a different way to surf the web. I have Stumbled Upon some cool sites that I probably wouldn't have found on my own. I have also Stumbled Upon so site that I wished I had not Stumbled Upon too.
